History

Since François Kieffer founded it in 1985 as a heating and plumbing business, our company has grown steadily and added new and innovative concepts and products to its range of services.

In 1991 we were one of the first trade businesses in Luxembourg to open our own bathroom showroom and offer turnkey bathroom renovations. Step by step this led us to add a wide range of interior finishing services. Today the turnkey bathroom renovation has become the standard.

The extension of our company building in 1997 considerably enlarged both the showroom and the office space, and today the bathroom showroom presents a representative selection of products from all well-known manufacturers in every price range in 22 display areas. Shortly after the main building was extended, the warehouse was enlarged as well, so that the additional project volume could also be handled logistically.

In 2002 we opened our kitchen studio, extending the turnkey renovation concept to kitchens. Gone are the days when customers had to request and coordinate every trade separately.

Since founding K2 Constructions sàrl in 2009 we have also been able to carry out smaller structural works and façades ourselves. This makes us even more flexible in meeting our customers’ needs in renovations and conversions.

In 2013 François Kieffer sàrl took over Chauffage Moderne S.A. in Luxembourg to gain a second location and serve customers optimally and close by. On 1 January 2018 Chauffage Moderne S.A. was fully merged into François Kieffer sàrl and remains as a separate location in Luxembourg City.

Since 2013 the company has been run by Tom Kieffer, the founder’s son, on the same principles that made it successful: solid quality, continuous development and first-class customer advice. Despite its growth, François Kieffer sàrl remains a family business and is managed prudently, with a focus on securing its future. From the very beginning, respect and loyalty have been two cornerstones of the company’s success, contributing to a good working atmosphere and positive staff development. As a team, we also make time for fun and relaxation now and then – at a barbecue afternoon before the collective holidays, a Christmas party or the farewell of a valued colleague into retirement.

With around 200 employees today, we can deliver building services and interior finishing for large renovations and new builds on a fully turnkey basis. Through our new Investor Services division we now also offer complete turnkey construction for private investors. We are coming ever closer to the founder’s vision of a fully “integrated trade company” that is competent in advising on and carrying out all trades – very much to the benefit of our customers, who profit from an ever broader range of services and ever more differentiated advice.
