The two most important functional rooms of a home, kitchen and bathroom, were showing their age in this project and no longer met the clients’ aesthetic or functional requirements, so they were to be renovated.
The U-shaped kitchen offers plenty of worktop space on which two people can easily cook together. However, it was also important to the clients to gain enough storage. Opposite the kitchen, a 3.60 m long, floor-to-ceiling wall of cupboards was therefore built flush into a specially created wall niche, and in the living/dining area wall-hung cabinets and sideboards were installed, together with an open shelf along the full length of the cabinets. The approximately 1.20 m high counter separating the living/dining area from the kitchen was also fitted with shelves on the living-room side. All elements are matched in design and leave nothing to be desired in terms of storage space.
In parallel with the kitchen renovation, new roof windows were installed in the attic bathroom to bring in more natural light, and the tiles, pipes and sanitary fittings were renewed.
