Complete renovation of an owner-occupied apartment
Location: Sandweiler
Year: 2014
Services: Complete renovation
Description: This rented apartment in a 1990s apartment building was to be completely renovated before the owner moved in. All floor and wall coverings, the old radiators, the mineral-fibre suspended ceiling in the hallway and the kitchen were removed. To create a modern, cosy living space, the partition between kitchen and living room was also taken out.
In the bathroom a walk-in shower was created, greatly improving the comfort and look of the room. The made-to-measure slate washbasin top also underlines the high quality of the sanitary fittings. For a warm, homely atmosphere, new parquet was laid on most floors, and the kitchen worktop was also made of real wood. A large built-in wardrobe in the bedroom completes the interior. Technically, too, the apartment was brought up to date with additional sockets, lighting circuits and Cat 7 network cabling. Thanks to the in-house coordination of the trades, only four months passed from demolition to moving in, and the owner, who did not have to worry about coordinating the site, could concentrate fully on choosing the materials.
